Ineos have paid extra attention to the characteristics of new signings they have brought into Manchester United.
The transfer record at Manchester United over the past decade has been awful with countless players failing to live up to expectations. A big reason for that is the pressure and expectation that comes with playing for such a big club.
However, Ineos have made seven brilliant signings since taking transfer control at Old Trafford. Over £200million was spent on five signings in the summer, before Ayden Heaven and Patrick Dorgu arrived in January.
Both have made an instant impact and added to Ruben Amorim’s side. Dorgu has been sensational in his first few weeks at the club, although a frustrating red card ruled him out of domestic matches.
Equally, Heaven has been “fantastic” according to Wayne Rooney following his breakthrough to the first team.
Ayden Heaven has the perfect attitude to be a Man United star
To succeed at Manchester United, you need complete self-confidence to a point of borderline arrogance.
Amorim has been wowed by Heaven’s confidence at such a young age. The 18-year-old stepped into the first team seamlessly following his £1m move from Arsenal.
According to Chelsea scout Terry Bobie-Agyekum, who has worked closely with Heaven during his time at Levels FC, confidence and a winning attitude is something Heaven has never been short of.
As quoted by Manchester Evening News, Bobie-Agyekum said: “I think his [Heaven’s] ability to bounce back has helped him become even stronger,”
“He had a mindset that is different to everyone else. He had a lion mentality, he was arrogant on the pitch – nice boy off the pitch, but arrogant on it.
“That was highlighted with the way he took touches, the way he would drive through teams, the way he could break lines with passes and how he would talk to his team-mates to gee them up.
“His character off the pitch, he is probably one of the nicest guys you will meet, he is quite quiet but a good kid to be around. He’s cheeky sometimes.
“You hear the term ‘live and breathe football’ but he epitomises that. And when he is on the pitch he means business, he is not your friend! He wants to win, unless he’s winning he is not smiling!”
Ayden Heaven injury update at Man United
Just as there were real signs of promise, Heaven suffered an injury against Leicester City which saw him stretchered off the pitch.
Despite it looking like a serious injury concern, Heaven insists he is “recovering fast” from his setback, which will be music to Amorim’s ears.
After being spotted without a protective boot at Carrington, Heaven is expected to return shortly – potentially as early as after the international break.

One United’s 12 players on international duty return to Manchester later this month, Amorim’s side resume their Premier League campaign on April 1st against high-flying Nottingham Forest.
Heaven will hope to return for that clash at City Ground, but if falls just short he could make his return five days later in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
