Popular streamer HBO Max is not holding back in its Black Friday deal for 2025, and better yet, the offer is already live. While the network increased subscription prices late last month in October, it is enticing both new and existing customers by cutting its Basic With Ads plan by more than half for the next 12 months. For those keeping score, this is a much better Black Friday deal than what HBO Max offered in 2023 and 2024, so it’s a good time to lock in a low rate now.
HBO Max deal cuts subscription price to $2.99 a month
Starting Monday, November 24, until December 1, new and returning HBO Max subscribers can purchase 12 months of its Basic With Ads plan for only $2.99 a month instead of the typical price of $10.99 a month.
Doing the math, that comes to under $36 for the entire year. That’s also a whopping 73% discount or total savings of $96 across the year.
For the last two years, the network had a similar deal for Black Friday except that it only lasted six months before the subscription price went back up to the normal amount. With this new deal, if luck holds out, HBO Max will copy it for next year’s Black Friday deal so that customers can continue to lock in that discounted price.
It’s been a strong year for the streamer so far with The Pitt, Task, and IT: Welcome to Derry, along with new seasons for The White Lotus and The Last of Us. HBO Max has been able to score the rights to stream several blockbusters as well, including Superman, Weapons, Final Destination: Bloodlines, an upcoming Batman movie, and the box office smash Ne Zha 2.
Slated for release in 2026 on the network are Lanterns, Half Man, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, in addition to additional seasons of House of the Dragon, The Pitt, and Euphoria.
