Has Disney+ canceled Made in Korea or renewed it for Season 2?
Disney+ has renewed Made in Korea Season 2, which will premiere sometime in 2026. It was greenlit over a month before Season 1 officially premiered.
Typically, series renewals are determined by multiple factors, including viewership numbers and audience reception. However, in this case, a subsequent season was announced even before the debut season’s performance could be assessed. This often happens when the series is conceived as a multi-season storyline. This involves significant investment in budget and star talent, and occasionally creates anticipation before the release.
In an interview, Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, who play Baek Ki-tae and Jang Geon-young, respectively, shared some details on Season 2. Hyun teased, “Compared to the first season, it’s going to get even more intense, and even more extreme in terms of the level of conflict.” Jung further mentioned that by the end of Season 1, one of the two, Ki-tae or Geon-young, would get ahead of the other, intensifying their rivalry.
“It is expected, right, that there is probably going to be somebody who gets a little ahead of the other person at the end of Season 1.The person who didn’t get to do that is going to be filled with a lot of anger, and that’s going to be maybe a driver for future storytelling,” he explained (via TV Insider).
