Gregorys Coffee, a New York City-based chain of almost 50 shops that sell coffee, drinks and food, intends to open in St. Johns Town Center where Starbucks closed in the circle across from Maggiano’s Little Italy.
GregorysCoffee.com says the shop is “Coming Soon in November 2024.”
Gregorys Coffee posted job openings for a store leader and baristas at the shop at 10281 Midtown Parkway, Unit 203.
The city is reviewing permits for Gregorys Coffee signs at the location. Taylor Sign & Design Inc. is the contractor.

When Gregorys Coffee opened in Broadway Square Mall in Tyler, Texas, in July, the company said it was the 45th location in the U.S. and its ninth mall location with Simon Property Group.
The Gregorys Coffee website shows 48 locations and seven coming soon, including in Jacksonville, in nine states and Washington, D.C. There are two shops in Florida in Jensen Beach (Treasure Coast Square) and Coral Springs (Coral Square). Both are Simon malls.

The Tyler news release said Gregory Zamfotis founded his namesake family business in 2006 when he opened up at 327 Park Ave. S. in Manhattan, New York.
He refers to customers as “Gregulars.”
“Despite being around for over 17 years, Gregorys Coffee has at its core always been the same: no attitude – just good coffee, good food, and good people,” the release said.
“Gregorys’ mission is to challenge the status quo by seeing coffee differently, and does so by operating its nationally recognized coffee shops and selling its locally-roasted coffee online and in stores.”
It said Gregorys has operations in Arizona, California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and Washington, D.C.
The website shows locations in Florida and Minnesota and one coming soon to Illinois.

The company says it roasts four days a week in its facility in Long Island City, New York. In addition to its usual blends, it also carries limited edition single origin coffees that it says it sources for its “unique, exotic and special flavor profiles.”
It also sells pastries and packaged foods as well as a number of staple items.
The online menu shows coffees, teas, blends, refreshers, iced drinks, canned drinks, waters and more.
Food items include breakfast sandwiches, croissants, muffins, cookies, scones, cakes, hard-boiled eggs, oats and more.
Starbucks Coffee Co. has a presence at St. Johns Town Center with a cafe in Target and a shop nearby at 4474 Town Center Parkway. Barnes & Noble, near the Gregorys Coffee site, sells Starbucks coffee.
