Greater Manchester local elections 2026 candidates lists for all 10 councils in full

Voters will elect a third of the councillors in Greater Manchester on Thursday, May 7 with 1,175 candidates throwing their hats in the ring for places on 10 councils

In less than a month, people across Greater Manchester will vote in council representatives.

All ten councils in the region will hold elections for a third of all council seats.

Across Greater Manchester there are 1,175 candidates who will see their names published on ballot papers on Thursday, May 7.

The elections will take place on Thursday, May 7, from 7am until 10pm.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote in this year’s local elections is 5pm on Tuesday, April 21.

Residents have until midnight on Monday, April 20 to make sure they are on the electoral register and therefore entitled to vote.

Voters are reminded they will need to take ID to polling stations in order to vote.
