The Grand Lake Health System-sponsored program aims to promote public health and a healthier lifestyle among its participants.

St. Marys held its 19th annual Grand Health Challenge. The Grand Lake Health System-sponsored program aims to promote public health and a healthier lifestyle among its participants.

From now till May, the five-month support program is designed to help those achieve their health and wellness goals through expert guidance, nutrition support, and fitness activities.

Upon completing the program, participants will have an opportunity to win cash prizes as well as a chance to win a Peloton bike.

“In general, it’s always a marathon, not a sprint. What I’m hoping is that every person who is in this challenge takes away at least one new healthy habit, and it sticks with them. Then, they can build upon it, knowing if you fall down, you can always get back up and do it again,” stated Dr. Dawn McNaughton, Grand Lake Health System.

Since the beginning of the program, over 6,794 participants have lost a combined 53,314.5 pounds in weight.
