Frozen 4 is in the works! Disney CEO Bob Iger reveals a fourth installment of the hit animated film is being discussed: ‘A little surprise!’

Frozen fans received an early holiday gift as Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed a fourth installment of the animated smash hit on Wednesday.

Iger revealed the famed studio is working on the new movie in addition to the previously announced Frozen 3, which hasn’t been released yet, during an interview with Good Morning America.

‘Well, I’ll give you a little surprise,’ Iger teased from Hong Kong Disneyland. ‘Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too.

‘But, I don’t have much to say about those films right now,’ he continued. ‘But Jenn Lee who created Frozen – the original Frozen and Frozen 2 – is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.’

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the songwriters of Frozen, are set to return and compose new songs for the two upcoming sequel films, as confirmed by Anderson-Lopez on social media.

‘Well, I’ve been quiet here for a while,’ she wrote on Twitter, alongside a report of the Frozen 4 announcement. ‘But yeah, this.’

Original stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad have all confirmed that they will be returning for the third installment.

There’s no word yet on who is in for the fourth film.

Iger made the announcement from Disney’s theme park in Hong Kong.

He is in town for the opening ceremony of World of Frozen, an attraction that lets fans meet the beloved characters from the film like Olaf, Anna and Elsa.

‘For years at our Disney Parks, we’ve been creating these large immersive worlds.

‘Essentially, they are the physical embodiment of some of the greatest stories that we’ve told…

‘And of course, Frozen being one of our most valuable franchises, I think it’s just right for building the place that Frozen takes place in,’ he said.

‘It’s just a fantastic land that enables people to get immersed in the story of Frozen and interact with all the great characters from the films.’

2013’s Frozen and its 2019 sequel Frozen II were massive successes for Disney.

The sequel still holds the title of the biggest animated release ever, raking in $1.45 billion, but the original did well too, pulling in $1.33 billion.

Beyond the box office, the films featuring royal sisters Anna and Elsa (voiced by Bell and Menzel) gave us catchy songs like ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’

A musical adaptation premiered on Broadway in March 2018 at the St. James Theatre.
