Football Accumulator Tips: Friday night’s 30/1 punt

Friday night has Paddy dashing all over the UK & Europe as the EFL Championship promotion playoffs roll on with Coventry City hosting Sunderland plus key games in Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga and the Irish Premier Division.

The Black Cats will be aiming to give Frank Lampard a Friday fright as AC Milan, Bologna and Rayo Vallecano try to push their hopes for European qualification,

Football tipster Feargal Brennan has got that Friday feeling with five value bets and with this being a five-fold Acca, Paddy’s footy acca betting offer kicks in, so you’ll get our stake back if just one leg lets us down.

Wolfsburg v Hoffenheim

Bundesliga match at the Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg
TV: SkySports+

Draw

Harry Kane has finally won a trophy as Bayern Munich wrestled back the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen.

However, there are still some battles to be settled in the German top-flight, as shown in a Friday night clash between Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim.

Hosts Wolfsburg are floating in mid-table, but with no wins in their last eight league outings, while Hoffenheim still have work to in the relegation battle – but they have only managed one victory in their last eight matches.

Inspiration is in short supply here, and they could cancel each out, with a draw giving the visitors the point they need to confirm survival ahead of Heidenheim.

Shelbourne v St. Patrick’s Athletic

Irish Premier Division match at Tolka Park, Dublin
TV: LOITV

Under 2.5 goals

Damien Duff’s title defence is not going to plan so far in 2025 at Tolka Park with no wins in their last five league games ahead of hosting St. Pat’s on Friday eve.

Pat’s have only won one in five, so it should be a gritty battle in Drumcondra, which may suit Duff if he looks to channel the spirit of 2024.

Shels won the league last season based on miserly defence which conceded just 27 goals in 36 matches and he will want to tighten up. Both sides have seen under 2.5 goals land in their last two games and it could be a low scorer again.

AC Milan v Bologna

Serie A match at the San Siro
TV: OneFootball

Both teams to score

The race for Europe is still alive in Serie A with Bologna in the middle of it and AC Milan on the fringes with three games left to play.

This clash is a dress rehearsal for next weekend’s Coppa Italia final between the two sides and the winner of that will receive a back door spot in the UEFA Europa League for next season.

AC Milan have straightened up in recent weeks, with four wins from their last five in all competitions, with Bologna unbeaten in four.

Goals at both ends could be the way to go, with AC Milan only failing to score in one of their 12 home games in 2025 and Bologna have hit the back of the net in seven of their 11 on the road since the start of the calendar year.

Coventry City v Sunderland

EFL Championship playoff match at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Coventry
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Football

Coventry to win

Can Frank Lampard break his playoff curse?

The former England star lost out with Derby County in the playoff final to Aston Villa back in 2019 and he is trying again with another former Premier League side from the East Midlands.

Coventry had a few stumbles in the final weeks of the regular season, but they are a real force at home, with seven wins from their last eight on home turf.

Sunderland are wildly out of form, with their early 2025 results dragging them into the playoffs, as the Black Cats have lost five-in-a-row. Lampard will be confident of gaining an advantage in the semi final first leg here.

Las Palmas v Rayo Vallecano

La Liga match at  the Estadio de Gran Canaria , Las Palmas
TV: Premier Player/LaLigaTV

Oli McBurnie 1+ shots on target

Las Palmas and Rayo Vallecano head into the final weeks of the La Liga season with differing ambitions. The Canarians are currently three points the wrong side of the relegation line with Rayo in the race for eight place and Conference League qualification.

Both sides have won just two of their last six, so despite Las Palmas’ desperation, it’s not clear to back them for a morale-boosting win.

Rayo similarly are making heavy work of their European challenge, so the value may lie away from a result pick in this one.

Oli McBurnie to Las Palmas was not on many bingo cards last summer, but the big Scot landed a move to the sunshine, and he’s been vital in recent weeks.

Three goals in his last five games – which have all ended in defeat – catches the eye, so I’m backing him to hit the target at least once.
