Food bank calls for Good Samaritans

Local food bank Feeding Hong Kong is calling for the public to donate and support the distribution of at least 5,000 Santa Sacks this December to help feed those in need.

A donation of HK$150 will help the food bank to source, pack and deliver one special food package including rice, cooking oil, noodles and festive treats such as cookies or special condiments to support 10 extra meals for a two-person family.

People can also help feed those in need this winter by supporting the food bank’s Festive Food Drive and dropping off a food donation at one of 11 community collection points.

”With your support, we can top up the shelves of our food bank with warm and nourishing foods,” it said.

Founded in 2011, Feeding Hong Kong is Hong Kong’s sole accredited member of the Global Food Banking Network, an international organization dedicated to creating and strengthening food banks and national food bank networks.
