Justin Theroux has raised questions about his involvement in the next installment of the popular video game adaptation. Following the Season 2 finale that left his character’s fate hanging in the balance, the actor now admits he doesn’t know if he’ll be back for Fallout Season 3 when production begins.
Justin Theroux isn’t sure about Fallout Season 3 return
In a conversation with The Direct, Justin Theroux addressed whether fans would see him reprise his role as Mr. House in Fallout Season 3. When asked what he could share about the upcoming season, which starts filming soon, the actor offered little reassurance. “Oh, I haven’t even gotten — I don’t know anything. I haven’t… I’m not even sure I’m gonna be there… I genuinely don’t know yet,” Theroux stated.
His uncertainty stems directly from where Season 2 left Mr. House. Viewers watched as The Ghoul, after discovering his wife and daughter’s cryogenic pods were empty, removed the Pip-Boy that served as the billionaire’s mobile communication link. The Lucky 38 screen immediately displayed “Signal Lost,” which is hardly a definitive end, but certainly an ambiguous one.
Although the post-credits scene offered a glimmer of hope, revealing that House’s signal was still flickering. Basically, it suggested his digital consciousness wasn’t completely wiped out, but disconnected from his main interface, perhaps temporarily.
Moreover, the Fallout Season 2 hinted that Mr. House’s physical body no longer exists as The Ghoul discovered his consciousness operating through a Pip-Boy in the Lucky 38 penthouse. Any future appearances would likely cast him as a digital presence, which could actually make him more formidable. Operating as code rather than a physical being, House could potentially access any digital system, becoming an unseen puppeteer manipulating events from behind the scenes without the heroes’ knowledge.
While Theroux’s status remains unclear, Kyle MacLachlan is confirmed for Fallout Season 3, joining Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins.
