As Tuttosport explains, it’s a deal made possible by Pietro Laterza, owner of both Chievo and Dubai-based club Al Ittifaq, which Mario Balotelli has recently joined.

Currently, Al Ittifaq don’t have any slots available for overseas players, so Douglas Luiz will spend six months at Chievo before moving to Dubai over the summer.

Douglas Costa, 35, is currently without a club after his contract with Sydney FC expired in September 2025.

The Brazilian scored six goals and provided 19 assists in 173 Serie A appearances with Juventus between 2017 and 2020.

During his time at the Allianz Stadium, he won three Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and one Italian Supercup.
