ESPN Pundit Makes Major Kylian Mbappé Claim After PSG Win Champions League Final

PSG won the first UEFA Champions League in club history after the departure of Kylian Mbappé last summer with a dominating 5-0 win over Inter Milan on Saturday night at Allianz Arena.

The capital club scored two goals in the first half thanks to a goal from Achraf Hakimi and Désiré Doué. It was an amazing start for the capital club and the contest would only get better for Luis Enrique and his team.

In the second half, PSG recorded three goals for a convincing win as Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu all scored for the Ligue 1 side to cruise to a Champions League victory.

As PSG were on their way toward winning the Champions League, ESPN’s Herculez Gomez decided to take a dig at Mbappé for now buying into what Luis Enrique was selling regarding being a forward who needs to track back and contribute defensively along with his attacking duties.

Gomez notes that Ousmane Dembélé has bought in and is reaping the rewards of his choices.

“Not long ago, Luis Enrique was trying to convince Mbappé of the importance of defending for the team,” Gomez wrote on X. “Now, it’s Dembélé who is making strides and is a legitimate Ballon d’Or candidate, on the verge of lifting his first Champions League trophy.”

It will be interesting to see if Dembélé, who had two assists in the 5-0 win, is now the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or.
