The midfielder had played 63 minutes of the tie before being brought off for substitute Ollie Rathbone.

Lee, the son of former Premier League midfielder Rob, has been key player for Wrexham since joining the club in 2022.

The 30-year-old has been part of their back-to-back promotion winning teams, which has seen the club rise from the National League to League One.

Lee has played 134 matches for the Welsh side, which is backed by the Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, scoring 38 goals.

The midfielder has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.

Wrexham are currently pursuing a third consecutive promotion with Phil Parkinson’s side third in League One.

The Red Dragons are four points adrift of second placed Wycombe, who occupy the second automatic promotion spot.

Wrexham earned a 1-0 victory over Bolton on Tuesday night at the Racecourse Ground, with Andy Cannon’s goal earning them a place in the EFL Trophy semi-finals.

They will host Peterborough United in the last four on February 24.
