The Elden Ring movie continues its development, with Deadline reporting that director Alex Garland has his eyes set on a former star of his to head up the video game adaptation.
Who is being eyed to star in the Elden Ring movie?
According to Deadline’s report, Garland and A24 are currently in talks with Kit Connor to star in the upcoming movie. Connor recently worked with Garland on his and Ray Mendoza’s 2025 war film Warfare. Deadline’s report notes that “several factors” have to be worked out before Connor is officially on board, but that both he and Garland want to make it happen.
So far, pretty much nothing about the movie adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2022 video game is known. The move came as a surprise of sorts, with rumors suggesting that Garland was working on a movie floating around a few weeks prior to its confirmation. Garland will write the script for the project as well as direct, with Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, George R.R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis all attached as producers.
Originally released in 2022, Elden Ring is an action RPG directed by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator and director of the iconic Dark Souls series. Alongside Miyazaki, Elden Ring features a story written, in part, by George R.R. Martin, and tells the story of a character on a quest to repair the mythical Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord.
The game was a massive success upon its launch, selling over 30 million copies and winning multiple awards. To date, the game is one of the best-selling games of all time.
