The Tochigi Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station has developed three new varieties of hydrangeas. They are named “Candypop,” “Starpop” and “Jewelrypop.” They all have elegant pink colors with red edgings, and flowers with overlapping petals, which are called double-flowers. They are scheduled to go on sale in places such as the city of Tochigi at the end of April. The station is promoting them as gifts for Mother’s Day next month.
