Minnesota-based Dunn Brothers Coffee has appointed former Domino’s executive Dan Schafer as Vice President of Operations.
Schafer holds extensive corporate franchise experience and has held similar roles at Virginia-based RĀKO Coffee Roasters, franchise restaurant operator Flynn Group and most recently, Aromas Restaurant Group.
He is tasked with strengthening Dunn Brothers Coffee’s operational capabilities, improving customer engagement and streamlining new franchise processes as it seeks to expand its store footprint to new US states.
Schafer’s appointment comes just six weeks after the coffee chain unveiled ambitious plans to open 250 stores over the next five years.
“Our Vice President of Operations plays an important part in streamlining overall processes and setting up our location owners for success. We have a lot of development in place for the remainder of the year, and we’re confident Dan will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency and implementing the company’s vision and goals throughout,” said Scott Harvey, President, Dunn Brothers Coffee.
Formed in 1987, Dunn Brothers Coffee roasts small batches in each of its 50 outlets across Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. In July 2022, the coffee chain was acquired by private investment firm Gala Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
