Making coffee is one of the rituals I’ve always looked forward to in the morning, and I consider it an official green light to actually start my day. I’ve always kept it simple in making coffee at home, whether it be through a Nespresso, moka pot, or Aeropress.
For some reason, I’ve always felt intimidated upgrading to a luxury coffee machine, thinking it would just make my process complicated, but the De’Longhi Rivelia Espresso Machine proved me wrong.
There are several reasons why I am impressed, but the number one reason is convenience and quality. Its multiple features, including 18 different recipes, interchangeable bean hoppers, and an automatic milk frother, make my daily coffee-brewing a breeze.

Features
First off, this machine is on the heavier side, so it’s not easily transportable. But once settled, it takes up less space than expected. I appreciate the sleek and compact design that adds a premium aesthetic to my kitchen. The set-up was fairly easy as each step is highlighted on the screen.
One of its interesting features is personalization, which allows you to create a profile for up to four people. This machine learns your routine and adjusts the menu options according to how each user likes their coffee at varying times of day.

It also has dual bean hoppers. This comes in handy if you’re like me and want, say, a cup of decaf during the afternoon. You can easily swap to the secondary hopper without removing the beans in the primary grinder.

Something simple I also appreciate is that the machine shuts off automatically after being idle for a certain period of time, which is great for someone who is usually on the go.
Brewing Process
When you turn on the machine, it takes about 30 seconds to heat up, so once you’ve selected your choice, it will always be ready to use. There are 18 options in the machine, including latte, espresso, cappuccino, flat white, and many other options.

When you opt for something that involves milk, the machine lets you adjust the froth thickness and milk-to-coffee ratio. It releases the frothed milk first, then the coffee. It’s a fully automatic machine, so it takes less than a minute from heating to serving.
On the downside, I like making iced lattes. However, the milk carafe for this machine only serves milk hot. If you wanted something cold, you would have to buy the LatteCrema Cool Accessory for cold foam.
Taste and Quality
I enjoyed the quality of my coffee each time I used the machine, and I love how I can customize it to my liking. This machine really takes the guesswork out of the process; just select and go.
As someone who is not well-versed in the nitty gritty of coffee-making and has zero barista-level training, this is a great option for a quick and easy cup of joe without compromising the taste of your coffee.

Is it Worth It?
So is it worth it? I would say yes. This is a multi-feature, fully automatic coffee machine that makes coffee-brewing an easy and fun experience.
The best part is I get high-quality coffee without leaving my house, which is a true luxury. Living in New York City is always a battle for counter space, and this machine has more than earned its spot in mine.
