Chris Hemsworth Ends Thor vs. Wanda Debate With 2 Words

The Marvel Cinematic Universe houses numerous powerful fighters, both heroes and villains. Naturally, debates about who would win in a fight between two powerful characters are always ongoing among fans.

Thor vs. Wanda is one of the hypothetical fights that fans love to think about. Now, Chris Hemsworth has revealed who he thinks would win in a fight between Thor and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

Chris Hemsworth admits Wanda would win against Thor

While signing autographs, Chris Hemsworth was asked by content creator Sami Haidary who would win in a Wanda vs. Thor match. The Crime 101 actor briefly chuckled before answering, “Probably Wanda.” Many fans agreed with Hemsworth in the comments.

Elizabeth Olsen has also said in the past that she believes Wanda is stronger than Thor. In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2024, when asked who was “the most powerful Avenger” between the two, she replied, “I think I am.”

The Eternity actress continued, “I think theory has it that Wanda could beat him.” Kimmel then pointed out that Wanda’s powers surpassed Thor’s lightning and hammer abilities. She concurred before stating, “I think I could probably somehow manipulate and go inside his body and do the same thing he does.”

Both Wanda Maximoff and Thor have seen their powers evolve rapidly since their MCU debuts. However, the former eventually reached a stage where her powers made Thor’s seem lesser in comparison. Thor’s lightning attacks, physical strength, and combat abilities were better at dispatching multiple foes. However, Wanda went from only being able to move objects, restrain opponents, and use mind control to being capable of doing all those on a greater level, in addition to reshaping reality to her will after unlocking her true potential.

Her powers evolved further after she studied the Darkhold, with her powers expanding to include dreamwalking (possessing an alternate universe counterpart), altering people’s bodies, turning other superheroes’ powers against them, and countering psychic attacks.

Notably, Wanda was also the only Avenger who managed to fully overpower Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Thor is confirmed to be returning for Avengers: Doomsday, in which he is expected to receive yet another increase in power. However, it’s unclear when Wanda will be seen next in the MCU.
