China accuses Japan of sending alarming signal on Taiwan issue

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi issued a strong condemnation of recent comments made by a Japanese leader regarding a hypothetical military response to a conflict over Taiwan.

The recent remarks have been made in a row that has strained for more than two weeks.

The most senior Chinese official , Wang Yi, has officially announced that Japan was crossing a red line that must not be touched, in line with the statement posted on the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs ’website.

Initially, Japan’s Foreign Ministry did not instantly respond to a request for comment on Wang’s remarks.

Meanwhile, the ministry on Saturday rejected China’s claims as acceptable and reaffirmed that Japan’s commitment to peace was unaltered.

The ministry said in a statement, “The letter not only contains rude and unreasonable content but also maliciously destroys historical facts.”

It has been observed that because Japan remains defiant, all countries and people feel they have the right to re-examine Japan’s history.

The recent diplomatic confrontation has established a red line regarding any Japanese military intervention over Taiwan, resulting in one of the biggest crises between the two nations in years.

In addition, China is Japan’s biggest export market after the United States, and it is expected to buy about $125 billion of Japanese goods in 2024, comprising prime equipment, semiconductors, and automobiles.
