Former Kansas City legendary kicker Nick Lowery has become the latest to suggest Travis Kelce is at fault for the Chiefs’ loss on Sunday amid the tight end’s high-profile romance with Taylor Swift and recent public appearances. 

Kelce has been an easy target of blame after the Kansas City Chiefs’ first loss to the Denver Broncos since 2015 on Sunday.

Add Kansas City’s legendary kicker, Lowery, to those piling on the tight end, who was seen attending Game 1 of the World Series last Friday and partying in the early hours of Saturday morning in Texas.

‘I’m just gonna say this once…. I adore my Chiefs,’ Lowery said on Facebook Sunday. ‘I love (Chiefs quarterback) Patrick (Mahomes)… I love Travis, and it’s been fun witnessing the “Taylor factor” – as long as it’s not a distraction.’

‘However, when I saw Travis watching the World Series in Texas…. on a Friday night before a road game….do I have to finish the sentence,’ Lowery quipped.

The tight end had been in Texas to watch Game 1 of the World Series on Friday night  

Kelce was seen dancing to the Taylor Swift classic ‘Love Story’ in a Texas bar later that night 

Kelce’s public profile has ballooned to arguably the biggest of anyone in the NFL since his romance with Swift was made public in recent months.

The star of The Eras Tour has attended multiple of his games this season and the couple has been spotted a few times in New York City together.

Swift was not at Sunday’s game in Denver, as she’s preparing for South American dates of her record-breaking world tour.

‘It’s always about staying hungry and humble. We don’t know what time he got home on Friday night,’ Lowery said.

‘But it’s a distraction, and it’s not a good message to the rest of the team. Travis is a phenomenal, full of life true leader the players look up to, a superb human being, and one of the greatest Chiefs of all time – period, and one of my favorite people anywhere,’ Lowery continued.

‘We will bounce back!’ Lowery said. ‘Let this be a lesson.’

Lowery did admit that it was ‘fun’ to see Kelce’s relationship with the pop star unfold 

Kelce had six receptions for 58 yards, but no touchdowns. That was Kelce’s worst performance since Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars – his first game of the season after being ruled out of the Chiefs’ season opener with injury. 

The Chiefs’ six-game win streak was snapped in the loss to the Broncos, with Mahomes not throwing a touchdown pass. Lowery played for Kansas City for 14 seasons.

Kansas City returns to action on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins with the game taking place in Frankfurt, Germany.

It’s safe to say Swift won’t be making the trip to Europe with Kelce.
