What Yellowstone spin-off has been renewed for another season?
Now, per Deadline, CBS has also opted to renew Marshals, which serves as a spin-off to Yellowstone, for a second season. This comes after only two episodes of the show’s first season have aired.
“The company clearly wants to remain in the Taylor Sheridan universe, despite him signing an overall deal last year with NBCUniversal that begins in 2029 on the TV side,” the article states. “Sheridan has a number of other series across Paramount including The Madison, which premieres on Paramount+ on March 14, as well as another Yellowstone spinoff, The Dutton Ranch, starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser in addition to Annette Bening and Ed Harris.
“It comes after the premiere episode became the most-watched network original series premiere without a football lead in since 2017 when another spinoff of a long-running show, The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon, premiered.”
Marshals stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, who is the son of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. The cast also includes Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin, Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz, Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle, Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo.
The synopsis for the show reads, “Marshals stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
The first two episodes of Marshals are currently streaming on Paramount+.
