The operator also said on Tuesday that it would introduce night rides for the first time to headline its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Ngong Ping 360 managing director James Tung Pui-chuen pointed to ticket discounts as one of the reasons for the “flat” performance in ride-related sales, but added that the cable car system suffered record-high service suspensions in 2025, at 9,589 minutes, due to extreme weather.
The service outages, which soared around 50 per cent year on year, were attributed to an unusually volatile rainy season and a series of autumn storms.
“We have no ability to fight the weather,” Tung said. “But having said that, even under such harsh conditions … we still achieved quite a good result.”
Despite the climatic challenges of the past year, Tung said that the engineering team maintained a 99.98 per cent reliability rate.
