Billie Eilish says Venom is her favorite fictional character crush
Billie Eilish and Quenlin Blackwell discussed their favorite fictional character crushes during Complex’s GOAT talk. The discussion was limited to animated characters. However, Eilish admitted that Tom Hardy’s Venom was one of her favorite fictional character crushes.
This surprised Blackwell, who audibly gasped. “That’s a fantasy for sure,” Eilish quipped. Blackwell then jokingly made a subtle growling sound. Meanwhile, Eilish performed a dreamy gesture, typical of someone with a crush.
Eilish acknowledged that Venom was not “an animated thing,” but stressed that the character was “animated by VFX.”
The other characters Eilish listed as her favorite fictional character crushes were Jack Skellington from the 1993 stop-motion animated film, The Nightmare Before Christmas, BoJack Horseman from the eponymous Netflix adult-animated comedy of the same name, Holli Would from Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World, Who Framed Roger Rabbit’s Jessica Rabbit, and The Lion King’s Scar.
Also in the Complex GOAT talk, Eilish listed her other favorite things. For her favorite GOAT song that was her life’s anthem, the Happier Than Ever artist named Lady Gaga‘s earliest music, highlighting Poker Face, Alejandro, and G.U.Y.
Moreover, Eilish said that her first car, a matte black Dodge Challenger, was the GOAT gift she had received. She was gifted the car by her record label.
Furthermore, she called Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie & Lowell the GOAT album she cried to. Here, she highlighted the song “Fourth of July,” saying it was a “deeply, deeply upsetting” song. Eilish also emphasized how that song was “so beautiful” and “so dark.”
