Best Comedy Movies on Peacock (March 2026)

Peacock is best known for its selection of television series and exclusive events, like the Olympics. Few think of it as having a lot of options for comedy movies. However, some of the funniest movies of all time can be found streaming there.

What are the best Comedy Movies on Peacock?

Universal Studios is more famous for action-packed blockbusters than comedy movies. Despite this, there are a number of classic comedies available on Peacock. The following chronological list of movies profiles some of the funniest films ever made.

Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979)

Many are familiar with the story of the baby who was born in a manger in Bethlehem. Despite his humble beginnings as a carpenter, he grew to become a respected philosopher. There were also some who thought he was the prophesized Messiah and the son of God.

This is not his story.

This is the story of Brian, who was born in the next manger over. He too had humble beginnings, albeit as a concessions vendor. And he too would come to be seen as a Messiah and the son of God. In his case, however, it was completely accidental, and the result of his trying to join the revolution against the Romans.

Monty Python’s Life of Brian may be the most controversial work the infamous comedy troupe ever produced. However, the controversy largely came because of what some anticipated in a comedy parodying Biblical epics. While Jesus of Nazareth is depicted in the film, there are no jokes about him or his teachings. The humor in the Sermon on the Mount scene, for instance, comes from the people in the back of the crowd mishearing what he says. (“I think it was ‘Blessed are the cheese makers.’”)

Amusingly, Life of Brian earned a positive review from the conservative magazine Commentary. It was there Richard Grenier noted the movie made more jokes about left-wing politics than religion. This was in reference to a running gag regarding the People’s Front of Judea, who spend more time arguing with other rebel groups than fighting the Romans.

However, the movie does take several satiric stabs at religion. One such moment comes when Brian loses a sandal while fleeing his unwanted followers. This immediately leads to arguing as to the symbolism of this act.

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Bill and Stan were two college students in the wrong place at the wrong time. A convenience store clerk was found robbed and murdered shortly after they stopped by the same store. With little confidence in their freely provided public defender, Bill calls his cousin, Vinny, to act as his lawyer. However, there are a few problems with this.

Chief among them is that Vinny only just recently passed the bar and is a personal injury specialist. Beyond that, he has no trial experience of any kind. Throw in his using another lawyer’s resume to hide his lack of qualifications and Bill and Stan are in hot water. And that is before Vinny’s acerbic personality and dress sense offend the judge. Thankfully, with the help of his brilliant fiancée, Mona, and a bit of New York street smarts, Vinny may just get a win.

My Cousin Vinny was a surprise smash hit upon its release. Critics loved the film for how it twisted the traditional “fish out of water” comedy formula and defied stereotypes. It was also praised by legal scholars as one of the few films to accurately portray courtroom procedure. However, the most surprising aspect of the movie was that Marisa Tomei won the 1993 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Mona.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996)

Dr. Clayton Forrester is a man with a dream. A dream of conquering the world with a movie so bad that it melts the brains of anyone forced to watch it. Finding that movie, however, requires extensive testing.

Enter Mike Nelson; a temp worker whom Dr. Forrester shot into space to act as his cinematic guinea pig. Thankfully, Nelson is not alone on the satellite he now calls home. With a team of robot friends, Mike fights his circumstances by mocking the movies meant to break his spirit. In this latest battle of wits, this means enduring the 1955 science fiction film This Island Earth.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie was something of an oddity, even for fans of the cult classic show. It was produced in an odd gap year, shortly after the departure of original host Joel Hodgson and writer/performer Frank Conniff. The movie also suffered from meddling by executives who didn’t get the original series. The end result was a feature-length film that was shorter than an average episode of the show and offered no changes beyond the cast being allowed to use more curse words.

Despite this, MST3K: The Movie was not entirely without merit. While its limited release did little to introduce audiences to the show, most fans agreed it was a perfect introduction to the show’s core concept. It also proved the show’s riff-based humor was just as effective aimed at good movies. (Despite its dated effects, most sci-fi fans agree This Island Earth still holds up.) The movie may have been a failed experiment, but it is still funny for all its flaws.

The First Wives Club (1996)

When Cynthia Swann graduated from college, she gave three pearl necklaces that matched her own to her three closest friends; Annie, Elsie, and Brenda. It was her hope that they would remain friends and stay in touch forever. This did not come to pass. Indeed, it took Cynthia’s death to bring the gang back together at her funeral.

Reunited, Annie, Elsie and Brenda discovered that they’re all suffering from the same problem. Namely, their lives are in shambles after their respective husbands left them for younger women. This leads the friends to join forces, seeking revenge on the husbands who betrayed them. However, somewhere along the way, the quest for revenge becomes about securing justice for everyone their husbands wronged.

Based on the book of the same name by Olivia Goldsmith, The First Wives’ Club was a surprise sleeper hit. Despite mixed reviews, it remained the number one film in the United States for three weeks straight. It also won the National Board of Review award for Best Acting by an Ensemble.

This is not surprising given the film features a number of fantastic comedic performers who play well together. Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn anchor the film as the titular trio of First Wives. However, the movie also boasts several small but memorable performances. Chief among these are Rob Reiner as Elsie’s plastic surgeon and Bronson Pinchot as “one of the ten worst interior decorators in New York City.”

Zombieland (2009)

The zombie apocalypse started after a strain of mad cow disease mutated to become infectious to humans. The collapse of American society has left the few survivors going by the name of their hometowns, so as not to get attached to others. It has also left them struggling for reasons to keep surviving.

For college student Columbus, it’s the hope his parents might still be alive. For Tallahassee, it is the search for Twinkies, which ironically haven’t survived the apocalypse as promised. And for sisters Wichita and Little Rock, it is the quest to reach Los Angeles and an amusement park. The four survivors will come together, drift apart, and actively work against each other, before ultimately rediscovering their humanity. And killing a lot of zombies.

Zombieland is not the first movie to make a comedy out of a zombie apocalypse. It may, however, be the funniest film to do so. This is largely due to a fantastic ensemble, with great comedic performers like Emma Stone and Woody Harrelson.

It may be Bill Murray’s cameo playing himself pretending to be a zombie, however, that is the comedic high point of the film. Amazingly, Murray was not the first choice for this now iconic performance. Exactly who was cast in the role has remained a secret, but they dropped out one week before filming was meant to begin. With their options and time limited, Woody Harrelson made a few calls and Murray agreed to take the part.

How we picked the best comedy movies on Peacock in 2026

Legacy was the main criteria for choosing comedy movies on Peacock for this list. Most of these movies either inspired a franchise or were produced by a notable team of comedians. However, whether the film had won any awards also played a factor.
