Barcelona rejected €90m transfer offer last summer

The brass at La Liga champions Barcelona knocked back a big-money offer for the signature of star attacker Raphinha last summer.

This came amid intense interest in the Brazilian by way of the Saudi Pro League.

Wide-man Raphinha has of course endured something of a hit-and-miss campaign in Catalunya’s capital to date.

Whilst productive as ever in the final third, the former Leeds United man has been hampered by a string of injury problems.

Raphinha nevertheless remains one of the key cogs in Hansi Flick’s all-action setup, though, considered close to untouchable by those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.

And as alluded to above, as much was made crystal clear last summer, upon a mammoth transfer offer arriving for the 29-year-old.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Last year, a Saudi team tried to convince the Brazilian footballer to join them. They made an offer close to €90 million to Barça, plus a very high sum for the player, whom they wanted to shower with cash.’

Both club and player, however, made known that they had no intention of parting ways under any circumstances.
