La Liga giants Barcelona recently received contact on the part of Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
This came with a view to a potential winter transfer between the parties.
The player in the sights of Unai Emery and co. with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign? Marc-André ter Stegen.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen is for his part of course expected to be on the move during the winter transfer window.
In the knowledge that game-time will be at a premium for him in Catalunya’s capital over the months ahead, the German requires a move to ensure his place at next summer’s World Cup.
A number of clubs are understood to have expressed an interest in bringing Ter Stegen in on a short-term loan deal.
And as alluded to above, over recent weeks, a new suitor have positioned themselves in the fray.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, with Emiliano Martínez struggling with an ongoing back issue, Ter Stegen has been identified as a January transfer target.
It now remains to be seen if the brass at Villa Park opt to move ahead with an offer for the 33-year-old.
