Atlético Madrid star confirms plans to finish his career at the club

Atlético Madrid star Marcos Llorente has this week moved to reiterate his unwavering commitment to the cause in Spain’s capital.

This comes by way of confirmation that the versatile full-back is keen to see out his playing days as a Rojiblancos player.

Llorente has of course long established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet in Diego Simeone’s squad.

An all-action performer who perfectly embodies the spirit of his manager on the pitch, the 31-year-old has racked up 40 appearances across the season to date.

Along the way, Llorente has also chipped in with a solid haul of nine direct goal contributions.

A fan favourite at the Metropolitano, it is therefore safe to say that all associated with Atlético Madrid will no doubt be delighted with the latest comments laid out by the Spanish international.

Speaking during an interview with Diario Sport, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, this week, Llorente explained:

“I want to retire at Atlético. I want to stay longer at the club and hope to reach an agreement for a renewal. I feel valued at this club. I don’t see myself playing beyond the age of 35.”
