After injury blow, 2nd Real Madrid star set to miss Alavés clash

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday been dealt a double blow on the personnel front.

This comes owing to developments in the club’s meeting with Celta Vigo.

Xabi Alonso’s troops are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front, in a league meeting with the aforementioned Celta.

Los Blancos headed into the matchup aware that a victory was something of a must, following Barcelona’s victory over Real Betis on Saturday.

Thus far in Spain’s capital, however, the evening has proven to be something of a disaster for Real Madrid.

First, during the first-half, Éder Militão limped off injured, with what looked a potentially serious hamstring problem.

This was followed by visitors Celta taking the lead on the far side of the interval.

And Real have since also been reduced to 10 men, after Fran García was shown a quickfire pair of yellow cards.

The Spaniard, like defensive teammate Éder Militão, is therefore set to miss out next weekend against Deportivo Alavés.
