The eight-episode series, which originally debuted to strong critical reception, centers on a time-travel mission tied to one of the most important moments in American history.

Netflix is set to expand its library of sci-fi shows with the addition of 11.22.63, the acclaimed limited series based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel.
According to What’s On Netflix, the eight-episode event series will begin streaming on the platform on January 7, 2026, offering viewers another opportunity to rewatch the time-travel thriller nearly a decade after its original debut. Originally produced as a Hulu Original, 11.22.63 premiered on February 15 and concluded on April 4 the same year. It was met with largely favorable reviews at the time of its release.
James Franco leads the cast as Jake Epping, a high-school teacher whose ordinary life is upended when he discovers a portal that allows travel back to the early 1960s. Guided by his friend Al Templeton, portrayed by Chris Cooper, Jake is tasked with an ambitious and dangerous mission: preventing the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. However, his attempts to change history are met with resistance. As the past itself pushes back against interference, Jake finds himself in increasing danger.
The cast also includes Sarah Gadon as Sadie Dunhill, Lucy Fry as Marina Oswald, and George MacKay as Bill Turcotte. The show is produced by Joseph Boccia and James Franco. Meanwhile, King, Kevin Macdonald, Bryan Burk, Bridget Carpenter, and J. J. Abrams serves as executive producers.
11.22.63 currently holds an 83% critics score and an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Its move to Netflix is expected to broaden its reach and renew interest in adaptation of King’s work.
