A-share Market to Distribute RMB 90 Billion in Dividends! ICBC and ABC to Pay Dividends on the Same Day Next Week

Cailian Press reported on May 10 that two major state-owned banks, ICBC and Agricultural Bank of China, will distribute dividends next Wednesday. The total cash distribution on the A-share market amounts to nearly RMB 90 billion.

ICBC recently announced that its 2025 annual profit distribution plan has been approved by the shareholders’ meeting. This year’s A-share dividend per share is RMB 0.1689 (including tax), with the equity registration date set for May 12, 2026, and the ex-dividend date and cash dividend payment date on May 13, 2026. The profit distribution is based on 356.4 billion ordinary shares, with a total cash dividend payout of approximately RMB 60.197 billion, including about RMB 45.538 billion for A-shares.

In terms of performance, ICBC achieved operating revenue of RMB 838.27 billion for the full year of 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 2%; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 368.562 billion, up 0.74% year-on-year. According to the Q1 2026 report, ICBC’s operating revenue in the first quarter was RMB 230.37 billion, up 8.27% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 86.941 billion, increasing by 3.31% year-on-year.

Agricultural Bank of China recently announced that its 2025 annual A-share dividend distribution plan has been approved by the shareholders’ meeting. The final dividend per share is RMB 0.13 (including tax), with the equity registration date set for May 12, 2026, and the ex-dividend date and cash dividend payment date on May 13, 2026. The profit distribution is based on 349.983 billion ordinary shares, with a total cash dividend payout of approximately RMB 45.498 billion (including tax), including approximately RMB 41.502 billion for A-shares (including tax).

In terms of performance, Agricultural Bank of China achieved operating revenue of RMB 725.306 billion for the full year of 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.08%; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 291.041 billion, up 3.18% year-on-year. According to the Q1 2026 report, Agricultural Bank of China’s operating revenue in the first quarter was RMB 206.255 billion, up 10.49% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 75.185 billion, increasing by 4.52% year-on-year.

It is worth mentioning that both ICBC and Agricultural Bank of China have previously distributed interim cash dividends for 2025. Including these interim dividends, the total dividend distributions for ICBC and Agricultural Bank of China in 2025 are approximately RMB 110.593 billion and RMB 87.321 billion, respectively.
