Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ brings IP68 rating, 200MP main cam and Dimensity 7200-Ultra


Xiaomi went ahead and announced its Redmi 13 series in China earlier today. The series consists of three members – Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro and the top dog Note 13 Pro+ which we’ll cover in more detail here.

Starting with the design, Xiaomi went with a curved screen on the Pro+ and a revised camera island with a vegan leather back on the purple-colored variant and AG frosted glass backs on the black and white models. Note 13 Pro+ is also the first IP68-rated Redmi phone.

There’s a curved 6.67-inch OLED display upfront with 1220 x 2712px resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel can output 12-bit colors and features a 1,920Hz PWM dimming. It can crank out up to 1800 nits peak brightness in auto mode and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. You also get an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and a 16MP front-facing camera.

Xiaomi went with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset paired with up to 16GB LDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi also added a massive 4000mm² graphite sheet and VC heat sink.

The back features Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 – the same 200MP sensor (1/1.4” size and 0.56µm pixels) used on last year’s Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The 8MP ultrawide module and a 2MP macro cam are also carried over.

The software front is covered by MIUI 14 based on Android 13 while the battery comes in at 5,000 mAh battery and features 120W fast charging. Other notable extras include stereo speakers and an infrared port.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at CNY 1,999 ($273) for the 12/256GB trim and goes up to CNY 2,299 ($314) for the 16/512GB model. Open sales in China start on September 26.
