I am in Berlin for the Beyond Tellerrand conference. The hotel at which I am staying offers continental breakfasts.

This time last year, I didn’t know what a “continental breakfast” was. I thought “this is amazing, they serve pastries and fruit and juice and coffee!”, to which a friend responded that there is a name for this phenomena.

The place at which you choose your find begins with a tray station. I felt like I was back in a primary school lunch room, tray in hands, excited for the upcoming meal. What did I have for breakfast? Pastries! And a banana. Banana + pastry = equilibrium.
