The island of Tenerife has dressed up for the occasion and is experiencing a day of absolute euphoria. CD Tenerife have secured their long-awaited promotion and return to professional Spanish football, leaving behind the bitter blow of relegation to Primera RFEF just a year ago. This feat has unleashed a wave of joy spreading to every corner of the island, uniting a fanbase that never stopped believing in their team.
A title celebration from afar
What is most curious about this celebration is that it arrived without the need to step onto the pitch on the decisive matchday. Fate had it that the title celebration became reality thanks to Celta Fortuna’s slip-up, as they fell to a narrow 0-1 defeat against Osasuna Promesas. That result handed them mathematical confirmation of promotion on a silver platter, just before the Tenerife side played their scheduled match against Barakaldo.
A historic celebration at the Heliodoro
The joy immediately moved to the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium. With the ground packed to capacity and an atmosphere worthy of the biggest occasions, the fans celebrated what is already being described as the earliest promotion in the club’s history, securing their objective with four matches still left before the end of the season.

The architects of the blanquiazul miracle
Behind this resounding success lies outstanding planning and leadership. Coach Álvaro Cervera has once again shown his magic on the bench, achieving his second promotion with the island club and reaffirming his historic stature there.
This success would not have been possible without the work done off the pitch: the new majority shareholder, Rayco García Cabrera, and the club president, club legend Felipe Miñambres, have provided the institutional stability that was needed. Meanwhile, the sporting department, led by Manu Guill, has done an outstanding job in the near-total overhaul of the squad, building a competitive and winning team.

Now, CD Tenerife are preparing to enjoy these four remaining matchdays without the pressure of results, knowing that the future is already secured and that next season they will once again dream of another promotion and of rubbing shoulders with the big clubs.
