With every high-profile wedding, a new trend emerges. From sleek silhouettes to spectacular décor, celebrities are now shaping the global wedding aesthetic.
In August 2025, an Instagram post set the internet ablaze. Georgina Rodriguez shared with her 72 million followers a photo of her massive engagement ring, estimated at up to five million dollars. Announcing her marriage to Cristiano Ronaldo, the celebration is one of the most anticipated of summer 2026. While the event could take place in Madeira, Portugal, the football superstar’s hometown, the décor and atmosphere – but especially the looks and accessories—will be closely watched worldwide.
That same month, Taylor Swift revealed her engagement to Travis Kelce. Her black-and-white striped Polo Ralph Lauren dress went viral on social platforms and sold out within minutes of the photos being posted. The brand reportedly generated around 6.8 million dollars in media value within 48 hours.
In early January 2026, Zendaya, who is in a relationship with Tom Holland, was also seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand, revealing her discreet engagement. As with other major celebrity weddings – especially those highly visible on social media – these upcoming unions are expected to influence the entire industry.
The study “The Influence of Social Media and Influencers on Preferences and Trends in the Wedding Dress Industry,” published in 2025 in the academic journal Universal Library of Business and Economics (ULBEC), shows that social media and influencers now play a dominant role in shaping wedding trends. They accelerate fashion cycles and strengthen expectations for personalization among brides-to-be, directly driving sales.
