Your pet can now fly with you as Etihad Airways drops its onboard fee to $399 for a limited time
For anyone who hates leaving their pet behind at the airport goodbye gate, this one feels personal. Etihad Airways has just made it easier and cheaper to fly with your cat or dog, rolling out a limited-time offer on its Pets Onboard service. Until 31 May 2026, travellers can bring their furry companions into the cabin for a reduced fee of $399 per flight segment.
It is a small shift that makes a big difference. Etihad remains the only airline in the UAE that allows pets to travel in the cabin with their owners, and demand has been growing as more people treat their pets like family. This move leans right into that reality.

The setup is simple but carefully thought through. Pets must travel in an approved carrier for the duration of the flight. In Economy, that carrier fits neatly under the seat in front of you. If you want more room, you can book an extra seat. In Business, that extra seat is part of the experience, giving pets the space they need to settle in comfortably.
The airline says the focus has not changed. Comfort, safety and a calm journey for both pet and owner still come first. The aim is to reduce stress for animals while keeping them close to the people they know.
There are a few steps to tick off before takeoff. Travellers need to submit a booking form at least seven days before departure and send the required documents to pets@etihad.ae.
For many, this will be the deciding factor between travelling or staying home. And now, that choice just got a little easier.
