Pedri injury update after Barcelona’s defeat to Atlético Madrid

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Pedri has come to the fore online.

This comes after the Spanish international set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday.

Barcelona were of course back in action on the continent yesterday evening, welcoming Atlético Madrid to the Spotify Camp Nou for a Champions League quarter-final clash.

When all was said and one, the Blaugrana were condemned to a damaging 2-0 first-leg defeat.

Not only that, but the aforementioned Pedri, who featured from the off in the fixture, was hauled off with just 45 minutes on the clock.

These developments gave rise to immediate fears that the 23-year-old had suffered a fresh injury blow.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then the Barca faithful need not fret.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing Spanish outlet Jijantes:

‘Pedri will be available (for the 2nd leg) against Atlético on Tuesday following staff assessment.’
