LISBON- easyJet (U2) has announced an expanded schedule that significantly strengthens air links between Lisbon (LIS) and key destinations in the United Kingdom. The airline is introducing new flights and increasing frequency on existing routes as part of its 2026 summer schedule.
The enhanced connectivity includes new weekly services to several UK cities and increased options for travellers based in both countries. With bookings now open on easyJet.com and via the airline’s mobile app, the carrier aims to offer improved flexibility and more travel choices during peak travel periods.

easyJet New Lisbon to Glasgow Flights
easyJet will launch direct flights from Lisbon to Glasgow beginning on 29 March 2026, marking a significant addition to the airline’s UK network. Services on this route will operate twice weekly, offering departures every Wednesday and Sunday.
With this schedule, passengers can plan mid‑week jaunts or weekend breaks with greater convenience and regularity.
The Glasgow connection is poised to provide enhanced access for Scottish travellers heading to Portugal’s capital region while also offering Portuguese residents a direct gateway to Scotland.
Seasonal demand trends suggest that the service will attract both outbound and inbound passengers, especially during the peak summer months. easyJet’s deployment of this route underscores the carrier’s strategic interest in pairing major European hubs with key UK cities.

Liverpool And Newcastle
In addition to Glasgow, easyJet has scheduled flights from Lisbon to Liverpool starting on 31 March 2026. These services will be available twice weekly with departures every Tuesday and Saturday.
Adding to its network expansion, easyJet will inaugurate a new route between Lisbon and Newcastle on 22 June 2026, with flights operating twice per week on Mondays and Fridays, The Portugal News reported.
This connection will create a direct link between Portugal’s capital and the northeast of England, a region with strong tourism and cultural exchange potential.
easyJet’s introduction of four weekly connections across three UK destinations reflects the airline’s confidence in ongoing travel demand. These services enhance accessibility for passengers in key regions and respond to requests from both markets for more frequent and flexible air service options.
The British market remains one of Portugal’s most significant in terms of visitor numbers, and easyJet’s expanded schedule is likely to support year‑round connectivity rather than seasonal peaks alone.

Bottom Line
Travel agents and industry observers have welcomed the announcements, noting that direct air links typically contribute to tourism growth and facilitate stronger business relationships.
easyJet’s move may also encourage competing carriers to evaluate their own route offerings between Portugal and the UK, potentially leading to broader market benefits over time.
