Lucasfilm has unveiled a brand new video for Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, its highly anticipated Star Wars TV show about Sith Lord Darth Maul. The animated series will finally premiere on April 6 on Disney+ with the first two episodes. Afterward, two episodes will debut each week, with the final two airing on May 4th.
“Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulpy adventure finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit of revenge,” reads the show’s official logline.

What happens in the latest Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord video?
The video offers a preview of the aftermath of Darth Maul’s defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi, which led the Empire to discard the fan-favorite villain by replacing him with Count Dooku. Because of this betrayal, the video shows how determined Maul is to enact his revenge against the Empire. It also continues to tease some of the show’s action-filled sequences. The animated series will feature the voice of Star Wars vet Sam Witwer, who is reprising his role as Darth Maul from Dave Filoni’s popular The Clone Wars and Rebels shows.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is created by Dave Filoni, based on Star Wars characters created by George Lucas. The voice cast also includes Wagner Moura, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus. The show is executive-produced by Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Matt Michnovetz, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, Josh Rimes, and Alex Spotswood, with Rau as the supervising director.
