Julian Nagelsmann criticizes Germany fans for booing Leroy Sané

Germany seems to have finally found a rhythm and completed a seven-game win streak under head coach Julian Nagelsmann with a 2-1 victory over Ghana on Monday.

However, the match, the final international friendly this month in preparation for this summer’s World Cup, was marred by a few negatives — the most notable of which was the home fans booing one of their own players, Leroy Sané. The 30-year-old Galatasaray winger was a 79th-minute sub but before he could take even a single touch, was already greeted by boos.

“Booing him before he even had his first touch of the ball, I don’t think that’s fair”, said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

For his part, Sané shrugged off the negativity. The former Bayern Munich man went on to assist Undav’s game-winning goal in the 89th minute and celebrated with his teammates. At the end of the day, such actions show the Stuttgart and German supporters in a very poor light.
