The Green Party has claimed a landslide victory among the votes in Cornwall last week

Despite winning the most seats at the Cornwall Council election almost a year ago, Reform UK failed to monopolise on that success at four town council elections last week.
The party won just one seat, on Redruth Town Council, but only by two votes.
Reform failed to win seats in Hayle, Liskeard and Penryn at last Thursday’s elections.
The Green Party is celebrating after winning two seats on Penryn Town Council, beating Reform and Labour into third and fourth places, and claiming almost 75 per cent of votes cast.
There was an Independent win in Hayle and the Tories will be pleased following their decimation at Cornwall Council last year by landing a councillor on Liskeard Town Council.

“Cornwall Green Party’s membership has more than tripled in the last year and Greens are showing that we can win everywhere – not just against the tired old parties but also against those who seek to weaponise fear and division.”
