Love Story is set to air the final episode of its first season, and fans are already eager to know if FX has renewed the show for Season 2. While it is still too early to know the exact fate of the series centered on the courtship and marriage of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, there appears to be some encouraging news for fans of the show.
Has FX canceled Love Story or renewed it for Season 2?
FX has not yet renewed or canceled Love Story Season 2. The show will air its Season 1 finale on March 26, 2026, but that may not be the end of the story. While this season may conclude the saga of the whirlwind romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, creator Connor Hines has suggested that a second season could focus on another couple.
Speaking to Vanity Fair earlier, the creator of Love Story said that a future installment of the series could potentially focus on the romance between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Hines said, “Maybe Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton… They have the right intensity,” referring to the type of romance explored in the first season.
Burton and Taylor fell in love while filming Cleopatra, despite both being married to other people at the time. In the years that followed, a whirlwind romance developed between them both on screen and off screen. They eventually starred in 11 films together. During that period, they also married twice before separating for good in 1976.
However, FX has not officially announced any plans for Love Story Season 2. Still, if development moves forward, an announcement could come in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the first season of Love Story will air its final episode on March 26, 2026, on FX.
