Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son trained with Real Madrid’s academy on Tuesday with a view to joining the youth ranks in the near future.
Ronaldo Jr, 15, trained with Madrid’s under-16 side. The teenager plays as a striker and is in the academy of Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr, who his father signed for in December 2022.
A move to Madrid would see him join the club where Ronaldo senior is the all-time leading goalscorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances. During his nine years in the Spanish capital, Ronaldo won the Champions League on four occasions, La Liga twice and the Copa del Rey twice.
Ronaldo Jr played in the youth setups of Manchester United and Juventus, two more of his father’s former clubs, before moving to Al Nassr.
Though he was born in the United States, he received his first Portugal youth call-up in May last year, making his debut for the under-15 side against Japan in the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament, and he has subsequently appeared at under-17 level.
Ronaldo senior, 41, has captained the senior side since 2008 and has scored the most goals in the nation’s history with 143 goals in 226 matches. He helped his team win Euro 2016 and the 2018-19 and 2024-25 editions of the UEFA Nations League.
