Barcelona set maximum Julián Alvarez price

The powers that be at La Liga champions Barcelona have set a figure which they will not exceed to secure the signing of Julián Alvarez from Atlético Madrid this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided the latest on the situation.

Barcelona are of course widely expected to bring in reinforcements up top with a view to next season, amid uncertainty over the futures of both Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski.

The aforementioned Alvarez has in turn been earmarked as the ideal addition by Deco and the Camp Nou brass.

The problem, however, lies in the finances…

Atlético are expected to demand a premium sum to even entertain the possibility of parting with their star attacker this summer.

And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Barca’s proposal could well fall short.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Atlético would ask for a high figure (probably more than 80 million), and Barça have set a maximum of 70 million.’
