One of 20th Century Studios‘ acclaimed sci-fi action movies has finally found a new streaming home, more than two years after its theatrical debut. From Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards, 2023’s John David Washington-led film The Creator is now officially available to stream on Netflix.

The Creator was also led by Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, Allison Janney, Ralph Ineson, and more. It currently holds a Popcornmeter rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. The epic sci-fi movie also received two Academy Award nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound in 2024.
“Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war. . . and mankind itself,” reads the official synopsis. “Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory . . . only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.”
The Creator was directed and produced by Edwards, who co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Weitz. It was produced by Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Arnon Milchan, with Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer, and Zev Foreman serving as executive producers. The film also featured music composed by award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
