- Publix is discontinuing the Publix Pay feature on its mobile app starting March 19.
- The company stated the change allows it to focus on enhancing other app features for customers.
- Customers can still use other mobile payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout.
- The Publix app will continue to offer features like digital coupons, shopping lists, and deli ordering.
Starting tomorrow (March 19) consumers who use the Publix app to pay for their groceries won’t be able to use that feature.
Publix recently announced that the pay option on the app, known as Publix Pay, would be discontinued.
Why is the pay option being discontinued on the Publix app?
According to Publix spokesperson Lindsey Willis:
- Publix Pay is being discontinued effective March 19.
- This change allows Publix to focus on enhancing and expanding other features that provide value and convenience for our customers.
- Customers can still pay using gift cards stored in their wallet, as well as other assistive technologies such as Apple Pay and Google Pay on a mobile device at the register.
What are other features on the Publix app?
- Save weekly ad items, BOGOs, and digital coupons to your shopping list, add your favorite items, and view past purchases.
- Order Deli items for in-store pickup, and save your favorites so you can easily order them again.
