Zack Snyder is not ruling out a return to the DC universe he once helped shape. Speaking during a recent interview, the filmmaker said he would “never say there’s no way” when asked about the possibility of returning the SnyderVerse. His response has sparked significant anticipation among fans.
Zack Snyder’s response to continuous SnyderVerse demand
During a 10th anniversary conversation for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder addressed the ongoing calls from fans who want to see his larger DC storyline completed. Speaking with Josh Horowitz, the filmmaker was asked, “What do you say to the die hard Snyderverse fans that will never give up hope on seeing you return to seeing the conclusion the the stuff that you had outlined for Justice League 2 and 3?”
Snyder did not offer a clear answer to the question. However, he noted that the continued interest itself proves how strongly audiences connected with the characters and themes. According to him, “I think (it) confirms in some way the validity of the mythology that we were working on like the kind of the obviously those heroes touch a nerve. Obviously those heroes are meant to in the end uplift and confirm sort of the human existence or the why of you know this crazy ride we’re all on.”
Snyder emphasized that he does not claim ownership over the characters. He called himself “just a shepherd of those characters,” noting that they will continue to evolve in the hands of other creators.
However, he declined to close the door entirely on the possibility of returning to his storyline. “But I would never say that there’s no way. I would never because I was on the ride that created Justice League,” he said.
The filmmaker also recalled that there was a time when he believed his version of Justice League would never be released due to financial and political hurdles. Despite those challenges, that cut ultimately reached audiences.
