Broadcast networks and streaming platforms confirmed multiple cancellation decisions throughout February 2026. The announcements affected long-running renovation programming, franchise-based animation, and more.
Public controversy prompted some cancellations, while networks and creators ended other series due to viewership performance or planned creative conclusions. These decisions reshaped programming lineups across cable networks and major streaming services.
List of all canceled TV shows in February 2026
Rehab Addict
HGTV canceled Rehab Addict in February 2026 following the emergence of footage showing host Nicole Curtis using a racial slur during filming. The network confirmed the decision after becoming aware of the incident and removed the series from its platforms.
In a statement to Variety, HGTV said, “HGTV was recently made aware of an offensive racial comment made during the filming of Rehab Addict. Not only is language like this hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners, and employees – it does not align with the values of HGTV. Accordingly, we have removed the series from all HGTV platforms.”
The network added, “We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across our content and our workplace.” Curtis stated to TMZ, “I want to be clear: the word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone.”
Terminator Zero
Netflix canceled Terminator Zero after one season in February 2026. Creator Mattson Tomlin confirmed the cancellation and cited viewership as the reason for the decision.
Tomlin wrote on X, “It was cancelled. The critical and audience reception to it was tremendous, but at the end of the day not nearly enough people watched it. I would’ve loved to deliver on the Future War I had planned in season’s 2 and 3, but I’m also very happy with how it feels contained as is.” The eight-episode series premiered on Netflix in August 2024.

Tell Me Lies
Tell Me Lies concluded with its third season in February 2026, with creator Meaghan Oppenheimer confirming it would not continue. The series finale aired on Hulu on February 16.
Oppenheimer wrote on Instagram, “After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.”
She added, “Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion.”
Smiling Friends
Adult Swim confirmed that Smiling Friends will end with Season 3. Creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel announced the series has “come to an end with the third season,” and clarified there will be no additional seasons.
They said they felt “burnt out and creatively accomplished after completing the third season” and “do not believe they could continue the series without compromising its quality.”
Cusack previously stated, “We pretty much can guarantee it’s not going to go on as much as these other shows,” while Hadel added, “Even if we had a thousand ideas at the end of season five, we’re not going to go on long.” The creators also left “the door slightly open to a special or something along those lines.”
Industry
HBO has renewed Industry for a fifth season, which will serve as its final installment. The network did not cancel the series, but confirmed that Season 5 will conclude the show, thus making it eligible for the list.
Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said, “We’re privileged to have joined the small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO.” They also stated, “For some time now, we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.”
Paradise (Honorable Mention)
Again, Hulu has not technically canceled Paradise, but creator Dan Fogelman confirmed the show is expected to conclude with Season 3. Although Hulu has not officially renewed the series for a third season, Fogelman said the team has already started developing it.
He stated, “In season three, which we’re already breaking — we’re breaking episode seven right now, and we know where it ends [with eight]; we know what episode eight is.” He added, “We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four come afterward.”
This marks the conclusion of all cancellations and TV show endings announced in February 2026.
