Tottenham hosts Arsenal on Sunday for the latest edition of the north London derby.

Tottenham sits in 16th place with 29 points and is shockingly in the relegation battle, having managed just four points from its last eight league games.

Thomas Frank was sacked after a home defeat to Newcastle earlier this month, and Igor Tudor takes charge of his first match as Spurs manager Sunday in the most high-pressure fixture on the calendar.

Spurs are just four points above the drop zone and badly need a result to steady the ship. They have at least scored in each of their last 12 home matches, which gives them some hope against a wobbling Arsenal side that has slipped of late.

The Gunners come in as Premier League leaders with 58 points but are feeling the pressure after two straight draws let Manchester City back into the title race. Mikel Arteta’s side drew 1-1 at Brentford and then blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at bottom-of-the-table Wolves in midweek, cutting their lead at the top to just two points after City’s win on Saturday.

Arsenal has been one of the best teams in the league all season, conceding just 20 goals in 27 games, but Sunday’s derby comes at a moment of real title race anxiety. Arsenal has won five of the last six meetings with Spurs, and a win here would go a long way toward steadying its nerves at the top.

Tottenham vs. Arsenal prediction, pick

Arsenal’s quality and title race motivation make them the clear favorite, but new-manager bounces are real, and Spurs at home in a derby is never a comfortable afternoon for anyone. Expect Arsenal to edge it, but it could be a nervy day for the leaders.

Prediction: Tottenham 1, Arsenal 2
