A new Publix grocery is coming to Shelbyville.
A nearly 50,400-square-foot location of the Florida-based grocer, Publix at Saddlebred Point, will be built at the northwest corner of Freedom’s Way and The Pointe Boulevard.
Publix announced the lease signing Feb. 19, but did not detail an opening timeframe.
The new Publix location opening on January 10, 2024 at 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd.
The new store will employ approximately 140 people.

The future Shelbyville location will join three Louisville locations (10005 Ballardsville Road, 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd, 150 Flat Rock Road) as well as open locations in Northern Kentucky and Lexington.
Another location, in Elizabethtown, at The Shops at Pear Orchard, 1311 Pear Orchard Road, is also coming soon, as are locations in Georgetown, Somerset and Owensboro.
Another Louisville location, 201 Blankenbaker Parkway, is also officially in the works, with a handful of others sites in Jefferson County speculated to be future Publix locations, including the soon-to-be-redeveloped Mid City Mall.
