Bavarian Loan Works: Lopsided scores in a lackluster week

Bayern Munich loanees had a strange week. Peretz allowed three first-half goals but still won and then was benched for the Cup match. Aseko conceded a penalty but made up for it with an assist. Guzmán came off the bench in Brazil and recorded an assist five minutes later. See who was part of the lopsided victories and losses and who missed for a myriad of reasons.

There are 11 players from on loan from the first team.

There are three players on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimovic, and Armando Sieb.

Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart

Nübel started in goal for Stuttgart when they hosted Köln on Saturday. He faced three shots on goal and recorded a save in each half. He allowed a goal in the 79th minute which leveled the match at 1-1. His teammates found two more goals in the last ten plus minutes and won the three points at home, 3-1.

Stuttgart will travel to Scotland to face Celtic on Thursday in the playoff round of the Europa League. They return to Germany but head back on the road to face Ibrahimovic on Sunday.

Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim

Ibrahimović started and played the full 90 minutes against Augsburg on the road. He had four shots — three blocked and one missed high and wide — and created two chances for his teammates to score. He also helped on defense with five tackles, one clearance, two interceptions, and eight recoveries. This helped Heidenheim hold the hosts to just one goal but they unfortunately could not score and fell 1-0.

Heidenheim host Nübel and Stuttgart on Sunday.

Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05

Sieb missed Mainz 05’s 4-0 beatdown by Dortmund on Friday. He was on the injury report with an illness and is listed day to day.

Mainz will host Hamburger SV on Friday.

England – Premier League

There are two players on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.

João Palhinha – Tottenham

Palhinha started on the bench for Tottenham on Tuesday at home against Newcastle. Spurs conceded shortly before halftime. He came into the match as a halftime sub to help them come back. He did not have a shot attempt but created one chance for his teammates to shoot. Spurs leveled in the second half, but conceded again just three minutes later. Palhinha could not help them find another and Spurs fell 2-1 at home.

Spurs host their biggest rivals, Arsenal, on Sunday in the North London Derby.

Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham

Kusi-Asare was not in the matchday squad for Fulham’s 3-0 loss in league play against Manchester City nor for their 2-1 win in the FA Cup away to Stoke City.

Fulham will travel to Sunderland on Sunday.

Daniel Peretz is the only player on loan to England’s Championship.

Daniel Peretz – Southampton

Peretz started for Southampton in league play against Leicester on Tuesday. He faced three shots on goal in the first 29 minutes and conceded a goal on all three. His team was down 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, he did not face a single shot on goal, meaning he went the whole match without recording a save. Luckily his teammates had his back and scored four second-half goals — including one late in stoppage time — to win 4-3.

Peretz was benched for Southampon’s second match in a week against Leicester, this time at home and in the FA Cup. His team won 2-1, but needed extra time to move onto the next round.

Southamton will host Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Sacha Boey is the only player on from to the Turkish Super Lig.

Sacha Boey – Galatasaray

Boey made his first start for Galatasaray since coming on loan. He did not have a shot but created one chance for his teammates to shoot. He also completed 89% of his passes. Although he did not contribute much to the match, Galatasaray put up four goals while he was on the field. He left the match in the 74th minute while they were up 4-1. Galatasaray benefited from an own goal in the final quarter hour, earning a 5-1 win at home.

Galatasaray will host Juventus on Tuesday in the Champions League. They will be on the road against Konyaspor on Saturday in league play.

Switzerland – Super League

Lovro Zvonarek is the only player on loan from the first team to the Swiss Super League.

Lovro Zvonarek – Grasshopper

Zvonarek missed both matches this week — a 4-3 loss against FC Luzern and a scoreless draw against St Gallen — and is listed on the injury report with a broken finger.

Grasshopper will host FC Zürich on Saturday.

Germany – 2. Bundesliga

There are two players from the first team on loan to the 2. Bundesliga: Maurice Krattenmacher and Tarek Buchman.

Maurice Krattenmacher – Hertha BSC

Krattenmacher is still listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury until late February.

Hertha lost twice at home this week — in penalties against Freiburg in the DFB-Pokal and 3-2 against Hannover in league play. Hertha will travel to face Paderborn on Sunday.

Tarek Buchman – 1. FC Nürnberg

Buchman was not on the matchday squad for Nürnberg’s 5-1 win over Karlsruhe, nor was he on the injury report.

Nürnberg will travel to face Bochum on Friday.

There are 15 players on loan from the second team.

Felipe Chavez is the only player on loan from the second team to a Bundesliga team.

Felipe Chavez – 1. FC Köln

Chavez was on the bench for Köln’s match against Stuttgart but did not make it onto the pitch to have a chance against Nübel.

Köln will host Hoffenheim on Satuday.

Germany – 2. Bundesliga

There are two players on loan from the second team in the 2. Bundesliga: Noel Aseko, Javier Fernandez, Grayson Dettoni, and Paul Scholl.

Noel Aseko – Hannover 96

Aseko started for Hannover in Berlin against Hertha and had an interesting match. He had one shot one goal — that was credited a big chance missed — created one chance for his teammates to shoot — which turned into an assist — and fouled a Hertha player in the box — which led to a penalty goal. Luckily, he and his teammates were able to over come a later Hertha comeback and win 3-2.

Hannover will host Dynamo Dresden on Sunday.

Javier Fernandez – 1. FC Nürnberg

Fernandez was on the bench for Nürnberg’s 5-1 home win against Scholl and Karlsruhe but did not make it onto the pitch.

Nürnberg will travel to face Bochum on Friday.

Grayson Dettoni – SV Darmstadt 98

Dettoni was on the bench for Darmstadt’s 2-2 draw away to Eintracht Braunschweig but did not make it onto the pitch.

Darmstadt will host Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.

Paul Scholl – Karlsruher SC

Scholl started for KSC against Nürnberg and played the first half at centerback. He completed 92% of his passes. Despite his team conceding three goals in the first half, he blocked one shot, recorded a clearance, and had two recoveries. He was subbed off at halftime when KSC was down 3-0. The match ended 5-1.

KSC will host Holstein Kiel on Saturday.

Max Schmitt is the only player on loan in the 3. Liga.

Max Schmitt – SSV Ulm 1846

Schmitt started for Ulm against Alemannia Aachen at home. He faced four shots on goal but only saved one of them. His teammates were only able to get back one goal on their way to the 3-1 home loss.

Ulm will host Saarbrücken on Saturday.

There are two players on loan in the Regionalliga Südwest: Benedikt Wimmer and David Emmanuel and three players on loan to the Regionalliga Bayern: Gibson Adu, Richard Meier, and Jason Eckl.

Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen

Sandhausen will host FCA Walldorf on Saturday.

David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel

Hessen Kassel will be on the road against FSV Frankfurt on Saturday.

Gibson Adu – Unterhaching

Richard Meier – Unterhaching

Jason Eckl – Unterhaching

Unterhaching will travel the short trip to Munich to face Bayern II on Friday.

Magnus Dalpiaz is the only player on loan to Italy’s Serie D.

Magnus Dalpiaz – Milan Futuro

Milan’s U-23 beat Breno 1-0 at home. No individual stats were readily available to see if Dalpiaz played or contributed to the match in any way.

Milan Futuro will face Caldiero Terme on Sunday.

Switzerland – Super League

Johnathan Asp Jensen is the only player from the second league on loan to the Swiss Super League.

Johnathan Asp Jensen – Grasshopper

Asp started for Grasshopper midweek away to Luzern and played the full 90 minutes. He had two shots — both missed the target — and created two chances for his teammates to shoot. The match went back and forth, with Grasshopper taking the lead twice and then also equalizing at 3-3. Luzern found a 4-3 winner, which Grasshopper could not match.

Grasshopper was on the road again on Saturday to St Gallen. Asp started again and recorded one shot — off goal — and created one chance for his teammates to shoot. Neither team could find any offense in this match. Asp was subbed out in the 83rd minute with the match still scoreless. Neither team scored after he exited and the match ended 0-0.

Grasshopper will host FC Zürich on Saturday.

Maximilian Hennig is the only player on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga.

Maximillian Hennig – TSV Hartberg

Hennig started for Hartberg at home against Altach. He had one shot — which missed wide. He also had two tackles, one clearance, and two recoveries on the defensive side. He was subbed out in the 66th minute with the match still scoreless for both sides. Neither team would score and the match ended in a 0-0 draw at home for Hartberg.

Hartberg will host Grazer AK on Saturday.

Jussef Nasrawe – SV Ried

Nasrawe was not in the matchday squad for Ried’s 1-1 draw against LASK.

Ried will be away to WSG Tirol on Sunday.

There is one player on loan from the women’s team.

Brazil – Brasileirão Feminino

Ana Guzmán is the only player on loan to Brazil’s Brasileirão Feminino.

Ana Guzmán – SE Palmerias

Guzmán started on the bench for Palmerias’ first match of the season, at home against America-MG. She entered the match in the 66th minute with her team up 2-0. Just five minutes later she assisted a goal to make it 3-0. She attempted one shot — off target. She also got back on defense to help with a clearance and four recoveries to help keep the shutout. Palmerias scored one more to earn a 4-0 win.

Palmerias will be on the road against Gremio on Friday.
